So, I finally made something out of the dA 17th Birthday Challenge... Better late than never, huh? 
But why did it take me so long? Well, first I lacked ideas and time, and then, when I finally settled on an idea, I wanted to wait a little longer to publish it, because by drawing this picture, I also wanted to share some great news, and I wanted the news to be somewhat "safe" to share with a greater public...
Yes, I'm pregnant!
My husband and I will be expecting our first child, and it will be due on May 2nd, 2018 - so, that's half a year from now, a perfect time to share the news with a greater public.
At least, now the "critical" first trimester is over, everything is good so far, so by now, we feel safe enough not to keep it such a secret any more...
And about the picture: Well, when I first saw the template (see here in the official announcement: Celebrating 17 Years of DeviantArt! ), I really saw a pregnant woman in it - but to be honest, to use the "face" as well as the big "bump" at the bottom of the template as a pregnant belly would have looked way too strange...
So, I had to think of something... Somehow, I thought of sunflowers... And then, I made up this "Flower Festival" - no idea if there actually is something like that somewhere in reality or not... Anyways, I added my husband in the picture, and here's what I might look like in early spring.
It's a little sketchy and probably not my best work, but I hope you like it!

OMG This is super awesome news. Seems all my friends are having kids this year or next year. (In fact the day after you posted this another friend of mine announced hers. Babies everywhere. ) I am so incredibly happy for you. 
Such a lucky baby. You guys look like you would be fun parents. You did a wonderful picture too. I love the story behind making it. Maybe the new baby will love sunflowers. It is a special picture because it is announcing such a wonderful moment for your life. Anyway so much congratulations to you both.
